54 Datasheets
This chapter centralizes small teaching datasets used throughout the Descriptive section.
The data series can be selected, copied, and pasted into the data boxes of the Shiny modules. Some datasets are also directly available as built-in options in the modules.
54.1 Typical dataset uses
| Dataset type | Typical chapters |
|---|---|
| Categorical browser/system data | Frequency Plot, Frequency Table, Contingency Table |
| Survey Likert scores | Histogram, Boxplot, Correlation, Chapter 84, Chapter 85 |
| Time series (Airline, Marriages, Divorces, etc.) | Time Plot, Mean Plot, SMP, PACF, Spectrum, VRM |
When using multivariate R modules, it is also possible to upload locally stored data files in csv format. The size of datasheets that can be uploaded and imported, is limited because we want to keep the system running smoothly. Almost all statistical methods, however, can be computed on your local machine from within the RStudio environment. The size of datasheets that can be handled locally is usually much larger than what we allow online.
